Alter The Press wrote a flattering review of one of our final Young Guns’ shows, Brighton to be specific. This was one of the two shows that we were lucky enough to be joined by our good friends in Set Your Goals. Much like yours’ truly, the first couple shows for their tour with You Me At Six had to get rescheduled!

Many Thanks to Alter The Press for the kind words! You can check out the interview here.

“The stage is set for the two main acts of the night, and first up is hook-laden pop rock in the form of The Swellers. Reared in Miami, the quartet are a refreshing addition to an over saturated pop-punk scene, and bring a sincerity and a dignity that shines through on every song. ‘Fire Away’ and ‘2009’ are performed at a thrashing high-tempo that sparks delirium in the pit, which fittingly, is one full of shining smiles and spine tingling sing-along. ‘Feet First’ is brilliantly written, lyrically as well as instrumentally, with “woahs” that will melt the heart of the most cynical of rock fans. It’s a sign of the band’s work ethic and general attitude towards their trade that they are waiting at the merch stand before and after their set with new and old fans alike, a trait increasingly rare in modern music.”

While we were bummed to see our dates with Young Guns come to an end, we’re happy to say that this tour ended a lot better than it started off! All our shows with Young Guns were incredible, and we’re so thankful that they brought us over to do this tour. We were lucky enough to be featured in this week’s Kerrang! podcast where we talk about the good and the bad…and nando’s.

We did our first (planned) headline show last night in Nottingham and it was awesome. We couldn’t believe how many of you were singing the words! We’ve still got a couple headline shows left after tonight in Exeter, so let’s make them count!

12/8 - Bournemouth, at IBar

12/9 - Tunbridge Wells, at The Forum

12/10 - Kingston, at Fighting Cocks

Well, we have had some bad luck on this trip to the UK so far. After being delayed and screwed over by two different airlines, subsequently missing our first show in Leeds, we finally make it to Birmingham the next night for an amazing show with Young Guns!

However, as luck would have it, Gus (singer of Young Guns) lost his voice after the show so the next two days were canceled so he could rest! Bummer. BUT! We did manage to score two new last minute shows for tonight and tomorrow.

We’re playing Birmingham again tonight at The Flapper with Straight Lines, and then again with them tomorrow at Corporation in Sheffield! Leeds and York kids who missed us should come out!

As of now, our show in Newcastle on Saturday with Young Guns is still on!
